Jewelry Industry Summit Returns Next Month with LA Event
Slated for Sept. 28, the half-day summit will facilitate conversations on sustainable and ethical sourcing.

Los Angeles—The Jewelry Industry Summit is returning this fall with a half-day event in Los Angeles.
Launched in 2016, the summit was created to facilitate conversations between all facets of the jewelry industry on sustainable and ethical sourcing.
This year’s edition is slated for Friday, Sept. 28 in Los Angeles. The half-day event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. PST.
It will be an informative and interactive conference allowing participants to learn about the sustainability challenges facing the trade and leave with actionable next steps to transform their businesses, organizers said.
Two speakers are Monica Stephenson of iDazzle and Anza Gems, presenting on “A Responsible Journey: One Woman’s Trip into a Gem Mine,” and Stewart Grice of Hoover & Strong, speaking about “Responsible Sourcing of Precious Metals: From Recycled to Fairmined.”
It also will include a registration/breakfast social hour hosted by the Women’s Jewelry Association Los Angeles chapter.
The first Jewelry Industry Summit was held in March 2016 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the second Summit was held in January 2017 at the Tucson Convention Center in Arizona.
The L.A. event will serve as a way to get the sustainability conversation started before the larger 2019 JIS event planned for February in conjunction with AGTA GemFair Tucson.
