Jewelry Television hunts for talent at JA NY Summer

New York--Jewelry Television is holding casting calls that are open to the public at the upcoming JA New York Summer show, with the on-air and online retailer looking for talent for its broadcast.
JTV needs a “Show Host Apprentice,” which will be a full-time position based at its headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn.
Interested applicants should come dressed and ready to be filmed and/or interviewed on camera, and should bring a resume and headshot. No appointments will be made ahead of time; instead there will be a sign-up sheet there and interviews will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma and, while no prior experience is necessary, JTV does prefer candidates with knowledge of the jewelry industry.
Because the casting call is open to the public and not just limited to the trade, JTV will be set up outside of the show’s registration area.
JA New York Summer is scheduled to take place Sunday, July 27 to Tuesday, July 29 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. Jewelry Television will be there for the casting calls from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the first day of the show, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 28, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 29.
Ahead of JA New York Summer, show management has been leveraging the increased energy behind the show from an improved layout by making in-person visits to retailers throughout the New York tri-state area.
The move is not only strengthening the relationship between retailers and show management but also has resulted in an increase in pre-show registration, show organizers said.
“As a group, we recognize the importance of having face-to-face contact with our retailers,” said Show Director Drew Lawsky. “Visiting stores in person, touting the ‘new and improved’ show layout that has been reconfigured with buyers’ needs in mind and talking about all of the exceptional exhibitors at our show have been very rewarding. We’re thrilled to make these connections and we look forward to nurturing these relationships moving forward.”
