Jewelers for Children Introduces JFC Day
The event, slated for Sept. 29, provides a day for supporters nationwide to raise visibility and funds for the charity.

New York—Jewelers for Children has announced the launch of JFC Day, a new annual event providing a way for supporters to raise visibility and funds for the charity.
The first JFC Day is scheduled to take place Saturday, Sept. 29.
Suppliers will be asked to reach out to retail customers to get them involved in the initiative. Many of them will offer partnership programs for the day, JFC said. Retailers will, in turn, be asked to reach out to their customer base to educate them about JFC and to invite them to participate in whatever activity they have planned for the day.
Both will be asked to use social media to promote the day, thereby increasing nationwide exposure for JFC.
Jewelers for Children said it will provide participants with materials to help them promote the day—trade ads, sample social media posts, customer communications and in-store signage—as well as ideas for how they can participate.
JFC board member Steven Vardi, who started the “Million Key Movement” benefitting JFC through his family’s jewelry manufacturing company, created and developed the concept of JFC Day with the help of the organization’s marketing committee.
“We’ll be asking all of our current supporters to focus their efforts on JFC Day, helping us to educate consumers about the good the industry is doing, and we’ll also look for companies to run some type of fundraising activity on that Saturday as a nationwide effort for children in need,” Vardi said.
JFC board chair Pamela Mortensen said: “It’s exciting that as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we launch JFC Day. This will become an annual campaign to raise the visibility of JFC and the amazing work that the jewelry industry is doing by supporting the charity. Tens of thousands of children have benefited from the good we do and we need to share that message with the consumer.”
Companies interested in participating in JFC Day can sign up on the JFC website or contact the charity at 212-687-2949 or at info@jewelersforchildren.org.
