Sharri Jones of Sissy’s Log Cabin Appointed to State Commission
Jones will serve on “Arkansas 250,” which will coordinate the state’s participation in America’s semiquincentennial celebration in 2026.

Called “Arkansas 250,” the commission consists of 15 people.
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders appointed seven of them, including Jones, while the rest of the commission is comprised of representatives from the Arkansas House and Senate, and leaders from various state departments and organizations.
In 2026, America will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Congress established a national Semiquincentennial Commission in 2016 to oversee celebrations around the milestone, and, according to the nonprofit America250, 38 states now have their own semiquincentennial commissions.
Jones said she is honored to help coordinate Arkansas’ participation in the anniversary.
“Just as Arkansas diamonds reflect our state’s natural beauty and resilience, I believe our contributions to the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration will showcase the spirit of Arkansas, and I look forward to working with my fellow commission members to plan events and activities throughout the next year,” she said.
Jones is the executive secretary and serves on the executive board of director at Sissy’s Log Cabin, the now six-store chain Sissy Jones started in a literal log cabin in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, in 1970.
She is the wife of CEO Bill Jones and the mother of William Jones IV, who was just promoted to company president.
