Old Saybrook, Conn.—Jewelry designer Katey Walker has opened her first flagship store in Connecticut.

In the coastal town of Old Saybrook, the store will showcase current creations, archival pieces from past offerings, and an exclusive, limited-edition collection that features objects found along the shoreline.

Located in the downtown shopping district on Main Street, the store opened its doors early last month.

Spanning 425 square feet, the space was inspired by the feel of a jewel box.

Her family helped bring the store together.

Santa Barbara-based interior designer Laura Putnam, Walker’s sister, curated the store details and atmosphere.

Her father Wayne Walker, a master woodworker, handcrafted the store displays from reclaimed maple, bringing rustic elegance to the interior, while her mother Lynn F. Walker, a local artist, created oil paintings of the town for the store walls.

"We are delighted to open the doors to our flagship store in Old Saybrook," said Katey Walker.

"This store is not just a retail space but a realization of a dream that my family and I have nurtured together. I look forward to sharing my collections with the local community and visitors alike."

The family’s collaboration was aimed at creating a space that reflects the elegance and craftsmanship of the jewelry, while centering the details of the pieces.

It resulted in a space that feels both elevated and serene, Walker said.

Monochromatic elements were included to balance warmth with sophistication, with the walls, ceiling, and trim all painted in Farrow & Ball's “Pink Ground.”

The boutique doubles as a collaborative meeting space for Walker to work with clients on custom pieces.

These interactions were also considered in the design process, with the goal of curating an ambiance of “calm, composure, and focused contemplation.”

The store also has a workstation for Walker, who handcrafts each piece.

Opening the Old Saybrook boutique marks a significant milestone in Katey's career, according to the brand.

The store, located at 103 Main Street, will initially operate from Wednesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Katey Walker Fine Jewelry can also be shopped at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Moda Operandi, Broken English, Five Story New York, and The Conservatory New York.
