David Mann Jewelers in Upstate NY to Close After 35 Years
Owner David Mann is heading into retirement.

The store’s history goes back 70 years, once belonging to Mann’s in-laws.
Prior to his jewelry career, Mann worked in the food business and spent the weekends helping at the Geneseo store.
Following his father-in-law’s retirement in 1989, Mann purchased the store and renamed it to David Mann Jewelers, jumping into the jewelry business.
The store was known for its welcoming and fun atmosphere along with its fair, honest, and friendly customer service, the family said.
Mann is a longtime member of the Independent Jewelers Association and Retail Jewelers Organization.
The family has also been involved in the community through participating in the Geneseo Rotary Club and Main Street Merchants Association, as well as supporting various local organizations and events.
“It’s been a pleasure to serve such terrific, caring, and kind people,” Mann said.
“The jewelry business is about celebration and making people feel good, and I’m very fortunate to have been part of that for my customers and their families for so many years.”
Following his retirement, Mann plans to travel with his wife, Denise, and enjoy free time and visiting with their two children, their granddaughter, and Mann’s mother-in-law, who has remained interested in the happenings of the store she and her husband started decades ago.
David Mann Jewelers is currently hosting a retirement sale, offering up to 70 percent off storewide, including gold, diamonds, gemstones, engagement rings and more.
