Jewelry Sketching Class Offered Online
A new online course aims to educate jewelers on the fundamentals of how to sketch by hand.
Oceanside, Calif.--A new online course aims to educate jewelers on how to sketch by hand.
Les Ateliers, a handmade fine jewelry design studio run by husband and wife team Robert and Pauline Ackerman, who are also gemologists and educators, is hosting the course, called Jewelry Design & Sketching.
Robert Ackermann wanted to offer the course after noticing a void of jewelry-oriented sketching courses, which he believes is the very foundation of jewelry design.
“Today, there’s more emphasis than ever to provide a quick and representative visual before continuing downstream, digital or otherwise,” he said.
Jewelry Design & Sketching offers 11 online lessons totaling four hours of instruction. The course covers everything from drawing a straight line to complex pave layouts.
