New To-Dos in Las Vegas During Jewelry Market Week 2023

Las Vegas—The annual Las Vegas Jewelry Week is upon us.
 
Whether you’re a seasoned showgoer or this is your first time in Sin City, here’s what to know about the ever-changing restaurants and entertainment offerings to take advantage of after a long day on the show floor.
 
See a Show
If you’re interested in a concert while in town, Seal is at The Venetian Theatre at 8 p.m. on June 2 and 3.

For those interested in Cirque du Soleil with a Western flair, you can see Spiegelworld’s raunchy Atomic Saloon Show at 7:30 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. June 2-5 in the Grand Canal Shoppes, also at The Venetian.

At The Wynn that weekend, there’s a gap in big name performers. However, late-night EDM clubs will feature The Chainsmokers, DJing at XS on Friday night, and Marshmello, playing Encore Beach Club on Saturday night, both in their 2023 residencies.

Try a New Restaurant
At the Wynn, there’s a new test kitchen up and running.

The resort’s fine dining Japanese restaurant Mizumi will be closed for renovations during the shows. However, Min’s Test Kitchen, a temporary May-September pop-up concept from Min Kim, executive chef of Mizumi, will be in full swing within Jardin, offering Asian cuisine from various countries.

There will be an omakase menu option, as well as a bespoke cocktail program from the Wynn’s master mixologist, Mariena Mercer Boarini. It will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Over at the Venetian, there’s also a handful of restaurant changes. David Chang’s Majordomo Meat and Fish and Moon Palace in The Palazzo both have closed. The celebrated chef does, however, still have his flagship Momofuku and Bang Bar at The Cosmopolitan.

In place of Majordomo, Chef Eyal Shani is planning to open the Vegas location of HaSalon sometime in 2023.

Guests can guarantee a visit to Shani’s other restaurant in The Venetian, the casual Israeli pita eatery, Miznon, newly opened and located near the Palazzo Casino Floor.

Also new in the Venetian is French-Mediterranean eatery Villa Azur located in the Grand Canal Shoppes inside the Palazzo. It’s in the former space of now-closed Peruvian Nikkei restaurant Once.

The Vegas iteration of the Miami Beach restaurant boasts a 3,000-crystal chandelier and promises that if you stay late into the night, you can experience the shift from an elegant interior to a cabaret-style setting complete with color-changing lights. It’s open Tuesday-Thursday 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 5:30 p.m.-2 a.m., and Sunday 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

Across the way at Caesars Palace, Chef Chris Santos’s spin-off of his famed New York steakhouse Stanton Social Prime debuted just this March. 

The bold Art Deco-inspired interior is dramatic and rich, just like the menu—think lobster macaroni and cheese and tomahawk steaks.  It is open 5-10:30 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, and 5-11:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday-Saturday.

This April, the Green Fairy Garden venue just in front of Caesar’s Palace launched No Pants—a shipping container restaurant with just three menu options: tater tots, a No Pants Burger, and a No Burger Burger. If you want your tots with caviar, you can sneak through the hedges to the venue’s new speakeasy, Pier 17 Yacht Club.  

Also new is the high-energy fine dining Mexican steakhouse Toca Madera for a sensory-filled experience, located in the Shops at Crystals. The West Hollywood restaurant from Los Angeles hospitality group Noble 33 replaces the former Todd English P.U.B. (“The Pub”).

This Vegas location is Toca Madera’s flagship and features a lounge connected to the main dining room, an open kitchen, and a hidden speakeasy.

To eat, you’ll find experimental Mexican seafood dishes like A5 wagyu tacos with kizami wasabi. The restaurant is also rumored to be serving a caviar martini with edible gold and fennel scented air. It’s open every day starting at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends.

If Wagyu isn’t your thing, Crossroads Kitchen is the barely-year-old Vegas iteration of the signature Mediterranean-inspired plant-based restaurant located a short drive down the strip at Resorts World.

Chef Tal Ronnen, author of New York Times bestseller, 'The Conscious Cook,' is known globally for his inventive approach to plant-based eats. The upscale venue is open for dinner Friday-Saturday 5-11 p.m., and Sunday-Thursday 5-10 p.m. Ronnen’s quick service burger outpost, CB Crossroads Burgers, is conveniently right next door.

Take in the Sights
While you’re in the area, be sure to pop over to the Bellagio for a view of their summer arrangement in the Botanical Gardens. Each season at the Bellagio, the horticulture and engineering teams transform the 14,000-square-foot gardens using sights, sounds, scents and colors. Also on display in the area is Princess Diana: A Tribute Exhibition, which is on the third floor of The Shops at Crystals.

Ahead of the June 27 jewelry auction featuring the sale of her “Swan Lake Suite,” visit this Vegas feature exhibit to see over 700 authentic artifacts including the largest on-display collection of the Princess’ evening gowns. It’s open every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For something more energetic, take a short walk over to The Cosmopolitan for the Spiegelworld production “OPM”. 

Formerly known as “Opium,” the circus-y outer space-themed Vegas show has been refreshed with new content and a newly designed stage.
