5 Fun Grammy Awards Jewelry Tidbits
For one, Taylor Swift wore $3 million worth of jewelry on the red carpet.
Kacey Musgraves’ morganite moment was one Grammys jewelry look that caught Senior Editor, Fashion Ashley Davis’ eye.
When it comes to fashion, the Grammys are like if Piercing Pagoda, Cartier, and some avant-garde body jewelry artist were all at the same party—a mess. The looks are chaotic and make no cohesive sense.
Unlike film and television awards where there’s a generally adhered to black tie dress code, anything goes at the Grammys, with many artists competing to be the most sartorially shocking.
This axiom was on full display at the 65th annual Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles on Sunday.
To really illustrate the point, consider Adele, formally dressed as if she was attending the opening night of an opera, and Shania Twain, who donned a red wig and black and white polka dot suit in the vein of an out-of-work actor dressing up as the real-life version of an animated character at Disney World. It’s difficult to believe the two attended the same event, but that’s the Grammys.

Accordingly, the jewelry was all over the place, but there were many great moments that deserve a second look.

Megan Fox’s Diamond Nails.

Marrow Fine Jewelry has previously collaborated with nail artist Brittney Boyce to create a set of real diamond press-on nails for Machine Gun Kelly.
For the Grammys, Marrow and Boyce turned their attention to his fiancée Megan Fox, crafting 14-karat white gold nails with crosses crafted from 150 diamonds totaling 0.76 carats. Machine Gun Kelly got his own matching pinky nail with a black diamond cross to coordinate.
The rest of Fox’s jewels were by Lorraine Schwartz.
Spacey Kacey’s Monochrome Look.

Impossible to pigeonhole country music artist Kacey Musgraves (a.k.a. @spaceykacey) proved that Barbiecore is still going strong in 2023.
That’s a good thing for colored gemstones, which typically play second fiddle to their neutral diamond counterparts. Musgraves donned a Valentino light pink bodysuit and feathered cape to walk the Grammys carpet with matching Stuart Weitzman heels. She opted for a pink gemstone to complete her monochrome look.
The singer and guitar player wore Nicole Rose emerald-cut morganite and round diamond halo studs and a morganite and diamond halo ring.

Subtle statements are like Easter eggs on a record, fun to find and hunt down, but there’s something to be said for impactful messages.
Queen of Easter eggs Taylor Swift opted for the latter in nearly shoulder-grazing Lorraine Schwartz earrings that coordinated with her navy two-piece ensemble, perhaps an ode to 2022 album “Midnights.”
Swift donned $3 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz, most notably diamond, natural purple sapphire, and Paraiba tourmaline earrings totaling 136 carats of all stones combined. She also wore purple and blue sapphire rings.
H.E.R.’s Perfect Layers.

Singer H.E.R. was channeling the 1990s with her Lisa Bonet-esque sunglasses and velvet dress on the Grammys red carpet.
In addition to oozing cool, she oozed glamour in layer upon layer of Jacquie Aiche jewels. From choker-length diamonds, to slightly longer riviere’s, dangling opals, and a seductive Y-necklace, H.E.R. made the “neck mess” totally red carpet-worthy.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Minimal Moment.

Restraint is in itself a surprise on the boisterous Grammys red carpet.
Singer/songwriter Olivia Rodrigo dared to be different in an understated Miu Miu slip dress that was still a little provocative due to its sheer fabric. The star matched her black dress with a black Tiffany & Co. statement-making necklace.
It was an Elsa Peretti “Bean” design crafted in black lacquer over Japanese hardwood, strung on a black cord.
Alongside other minimal Tiffany jewels, the bold 1970s-esque Elsa Peretti necklace stole the show.
