Harwell Godfrey Nabs CFDA Fashion Award Nomination
The sole fine jewelry nominee, the brand is up for an award in the emerging designer category.

The brand, helmed by Lauren Harwell Godfrey, is nominated for a Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Award in the “American Emerging Designer of the Year” category.
The other categories in the Fashion Awards are “American Womenswear Designer of the Year,” “American Menswear Designer of the Year,” and “American Accessory Designer of the Year.”
There are also several honorary awards, including the “Board of Trustees Award,” which will go to the late designer Virgil Abloh, and the “Fashion Icon Award,” which will be awarded to Lenny Kravitz. Law Roach, celebrity stylist to entertainers like Zendaya, will receive the organization’s first “Stylist Award.”
Across all categories, Harwell Godfrey is the sole fine jewelry brand to be honored. It’s up against women’s ready-to-wear brand Bach Mai, women’s ready-to-wear and accessories brand Puppets and Puppets, men’s ready-to-wear and accessories brand Kidsuper, and women’s ready-to-wear brand Elena Velez.
“This year’s nominees reflect the renewed excitement around American fashion generated by designers who are redefining the future of our industry,” CFDA Chief Executive Steven Kolb said.
Designer Lauren Harwell Godfrey said, “I’m new to CFDA as an interim member and am already wildly impressed at all they do to support and elevate the American design community.
“The award will be announced on Nov. 7, and I’ve got very stiff competition from my fellow CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Elena Velez, KidSuper, Bach Mai, and Puppets and Puppets. It’s an honor to be in this with you."
The CFDA nomination is far from the first time Harwell Godfrey has been recognized for its design excellence.
Since branching out into fine jewelry, Harwell Godfrey has earned itself a Couture Design Award and a Gem Award for Jewelry Design, and made waves for its many charitable endeavors.
The brand has a series of pendants that benefit philanthropic organizations, donating 100 percent of proceeds on an ongoing basis. Recently, the company feted it sixth charitable pendant benefiting Everytown during an event at New York Fashion Week.
Additionally, following Sotheby’s “Brilliant & Black” exhibition last year in New York, Harwell Godfrey is again featured in the second iteration in London.
