Plumb Club, JVC to Hold Webinar on Sustainability Marketing
The Jewelers Vigilance Committee’s Sara Yood will give an overview of what the FTC guidelines currently say and what may be changing.

An upcoming webinar, hosted by the Plumb Club and the Jewelers Vigilance Committee, aims to help jewelers do just that.
The virtual presentation, titled “Talking Green! What Can You Really Say in Sustainability Marketing?”, will be held in the Jewelers Resource Center Auditorium section of The Plumb Club’s website on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. EDT.
“The FTC has an entire set of guidelines on how to talk about everything from solar-powered to recycled materials,” said the Plumb Club. “However, these guides are up for revision and the acceptable language is changing quickly. Retailers need to be prepared and stay informed.”
Sara Yood, deputy general counsel at JVC, will lead the session, helping jewelers navigate these guidelines.
Yood will give an overview of what the guidelines currently say and what may be changing. She’ll also provide guidance on how to communicate clearly when choosing the words used to describe and advertise a product.
The webinar is open to the entire jewelry industry, and it is free to register.
