Virtual Diamond Boutique Uncorks the ‘Sales Genie’
The new app allows salespeople to quickly and easily access a lot of inventory.

The VDB Sales Genie app is customizable by retailer and can be accessed on both tablets and smartphones.
The app allows salespeople to show customers what the store or stores have in stock as well as inventory from their preferred suppliers on the VDB Marketplace, Virtual Diamond Boutique’s B2B digital marketplace of more than 1.5 million natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, colored gemstones, and jewelry.
VDB said salespeople can access the Sales Genie on a tablet or a smartphone, allowing them to scroll through merchandise side-by-side with the customer. The inventory appears on screen with the retailer’s desired markup already calculated into the price.
In addition to standard search parameters, users can filter by preferred supplier and grading lab. Each search result includes high-res images and videos for an up-close look at the diamond, gem, or piece of jewelry.
After the customer picks their favorites, the salesperson can submit a request for memo (if needed) without leaving the app. The Sales Genie will route the memo request to the store’s buyer via email for review and approval, if this is the workflow the store owner prefers.
In addition, if they wish, the customer can receive an email with pictures of their preferred diamonds or jewelry branded with the store’s logo to keep them interested and invested in a return visit, VDB said.
VDB President and CEO Tanya Nisguretsky noted consumer buying habits have changed with the rise of online shopping, which is why they created the Genie.
“We designed the VDB Sales Genie as an affordable tool for retailers to sell more inventory no matter where their goods are located and no matter where the customer requests come up,” she said.
“The Sales Genie can be thought of like a digital vault, expanding a retailer’s merchandise beyond anything they could afford and giving them instant access to inventory beyond that of their competitors.”
