Julie Lamb Is FGI’s 2022 ‘Rising Star’ in Fine Jewelry
The New York City native was honored at the annual Fashion Group International awards ceremony, held Tuesday night.

New York—Fashion Group International handed out its “Rising Star” awards Tuesday night and the winner in the fine jewelry category was Julie Lamb.
A New York City native, Lamb attended the High School of Art and Design in Midtown Manhattan then went on to Syracuse University, where she graduated with a degree in metalsmithing.
After school, Lamb went to work designing jewelry—both fine and fashion—for a broad range of companies, from family-owned businesses to big corporations.
Over the years, she also gained experience in product development, marketing, merchandising, management and branding.
In 2015, she leaned on the breadth of her experience to venture out on her own, launching Julie Lamb New York shortly thereafter.
Creating with her tagline of “Different by Design” in mind, Lamb’s designs range from the playful—her signature lamb styles in the “Be Ewe” collection—to the personal—the NYC subway-inspired designs in the “City” collection—to the exclusive, like the bespoke “La Principessa” emerald ring pictured below.
Lamb accepted her FGI Rising Star award from Graff President and CEO North America Marc Hruschka.
The other Rising Star finalists in the fine jewelry category this year were Mary Margrill and Sara Shala of Sara Shala Designs.

The 26th annual Fashion Group International Rising Star Awards took place Tuesday evening at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers.

FGI is a professional membership organization for industry leaders in fashion, beauty, lifestyle and retail from around the world.
The organization’s annual Rising Star designer competition was created to connect and support various facets of the fashion industry and, in many cases, offers emerging brands exposure to tastemakers and industry leaders. (All FGI Rising Star award finalists have been in business six years or less.)
Past winners include Margery Hirschey (2014), Michal Kadar of Cadar (2016), and Dana Bronfman (2017) in the fine jewelry category, as well as fashion designers like Jason Wu, Tory Burch, and Thom Brown.
Artist, author and designer Rebecca Moses delivered the evening’s keynote at the 2022 awards.
