Elle Hill Joins CIBJO Technology Committee
She’s the first woman on the committee, which was established in 2019.

She is the first woman to serve on the committee, which CIBJO established to better understand the disruptive technologies likely to impact the jewelry industry in the near future.
Hill founded and runs consulting firm Hill & Co. She and her team of experts share their insights and experience with entrepreneurs and business owners, helping them to get their businesses up and running and to increase profits.
In a press release, Hill said she is “delighted” to join CIBJO’s Technology Committee as its first female member and lead the way for other women in the jewelry industry.
“In my 28-year career in the international diamond, gemstone and fine jewelry business, I’ve seen the power that new technology can have to drive innovation and business growth. Early in my career, I was supported and spurred on by committee heads at organizations that support our great industry. The members of the technology committee are businesspeople who inspire me and whom I admire.
“Technology has such power to unite and drive our industry forward. I am excited by the future and the possibilities it holds for us.”
CIBJO’s established its technology committee in 2019.
Headed by longtime diamantaire Stephane Fischler, the group operates as a think-tank, collecting and discussing information and ideas, and then sharing them with CIBJO members and the broader jewelry industry.
Fischler said Hill’s name was at the top of his list when it came to adding a member to the committee, noting she is at the forefront of change when it comes to technology and the jewelry industry.
He added: “The key challenge in our industry is education. As a whole, we must learn more about the many ways technology can add dollars to the bottom line. Businesses are not aware of all the technological tools available to them and how those tools contain costs and create opportunities.”
