CIBJO’s 2021 Congress Will Be Virtual
The event will take place via Zoom during the first and third weeks of November.

The congress is scheduled to take place during the first and third weeks of November, from Monday, Nov. 1 to Thursday, Nov. 4, and then again from Monday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 18.
Certain congress sessions, including the opening ceremony, are open to all. Registration for them will begin on Oct. 1.
Other sessions are invitation only.
CIBJO said there will only be one or two sessions per day, as the sessions are timed in order to allow for maximum participation from delegates, who are logging in from different time zones all over the world.
In addition, the proceedings will be recorded so sessions can be viewed at any time.
The CIBJO congress is the annual meeting of the organization’s global membership.
It is also the venue for the annual meetings of CIBJO’s sectoral commissions, where amendments to the organization’s “Blue Books”—its guides for international industry standards on diamonds, colored stones, precious metals and more—can be introduced.
Commenting on the 2021 congress, CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri said: “There is a great deal to report and discuss, not least of which is how our industry is being impacted and changed by the COVID pandemic. It will be a fascinating congress.”
